We LOVE onion rings in this house! These are great on their own or served w/ a dip (e.g., ketchup, ranch, BBQ sauce, or a fancy onion ring sauce).
TIPS: You can make this a Keto or LowCarb recipe – just sub crushed pork rinds for the breadcrumbs and sub almond flour for the all purpose flour.

- 1 sweet onion, sliced into 1/4″ rings
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour, divided
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning (see my Cajun Seasoning recipe)
- 4 pinches freshly ground sea salt
- 6 pinches freshly ground black pepper
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425◦ F.
- Cover baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Add 1/4 cup flour to a large plate.
- On a 2nd large plate, gently mix together the remaining 1/4 cup flour, 1/2 cup cream, and 1 beaten egg.
- Add 1 Tbsp Cajun seasoning, 4 pinches salt, and 6 pinches pepper to egg mixture and gently mix until well blended.
- Add 1 cup breadcrumbs to a 3rd large plate.
- Dip the onion slices, one-by-one, into the plate of plain flour mixture, then the egg mixture plate.
- After step 7 for each, let excess egg mixture drip off, then dip onion slices, one-by-one, into breadcrumbs.
- As each ring goes through the battering process, place it onto baking sheets in a single layer.
- Bake 20 mins, until onion rings are golden brown.
