Agave Cinnamon Steel Cut Oatmeal

My new IP recipe makes 3 meal-size servings (1 cup each) or 9 snack-size (1/3 cup each) servings. Great for meal prepping…

I’ve missed my McCann’s!

I like to top a meal-size serving w/ chia & flax seeds, slivered almonds, and strawberries, plus about a 1/2 cup of Fairlife fat free milk.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups filtered water
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 2 Tbsp agave syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions
  1. Add in order: 1 cup oats, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp vanilla, then 3 cups water to inner pot of Instant Pot (IP), then stir gently to mix.
  2. Secure lid, setting valve to SEAL.
  3. Select PRESSURE COOK (or MANUAL) for 2 mins.
  4. Once cooking cycle ends, allow a naturally release. In my 8-qt IP, the pressure pin will drop somewhere around the 10-min mark from when the cooking cycle ended.
  5. Remove lid (away from you) and set aside.
  6. Stir in 2 Tbsp agave syrup, until well-blended.
  7. Serve warm or portion out and refrigerate. To reheat, loosely cover and microwave (in an 1100 watt microwave for about 1 min 30 secs). Add milk of choice, if desired, to loosen oats and stir until desired smoothness.
