These Baked Cajun Fries turned out perfectly! 🤤

The attempt to get something similar to @raisingcanes sauce… not so much. ☹️ Too much ketchup and not enough spice. But, it still gave a cool complement to the fries.

Baked Cajun Fries Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 large Russet potatoes
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Cajun seasoning (see my Cajun Seasoning recipe)
Directions
  1. Wash and scrub 2 large Russet potatoes.
  2. Cut potatoes into about 1/4″ slices. Think “French fry” size. See top right pic above for suggested cutting steps.
  3. Immerse cut potatoes in a large bowl of cold water then move to refrigerator to soak for 1 hr.
  4. Line a an extra large baking sheet with parchment paper then set aside.
  5. About 55 mins into soaking potato slices, preheat oven to 350 F.
  6. Drain soaked potato slices, then transfer to a clean dish towel. Using a second dish towel, pat the drained potato slices as dry as you can get them.
  7. In a gallon-size Ziplock bag, toss patted dry potato slices in 1 1/2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil and 1 1/2 Tbsp Cajun seasoning until well-coated.
  8. Spread seasoned potato slice on prepared baking sheet in one layer.
  9. Bake for 20 mins, then remove from oven and increase oven temp to 450 F.
  10. Shuffle fries around on baking sheet, again ensuring they’re in one layer before returning to oven.
  11. Bake for 25 more mins.
