TIP: We find these salty enough without added salt, but if you like ’em saltier, feel free to add 1/4 tsp kosher salt to meatball mixture.

Cali-Asian Turkey Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp coconut aminos (divided)
  • 1/3 cup + 1 Tbsp less sodium soy sauce (divided)
  • 2 lbs 99% extra lean ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper (divided)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger (divided)
  • 2 green onions (both white and green parts, sliced thinly but kept separated)
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. Line an extra large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 large eggs, 1 Tbsp coconut aminos, and 1 Tbsp less sodium soy sauce.
  4. Add thinly sliced green parts of 2 green onions and mix together until well-combined.
  5. Add 2 lbs 99% extra lean ground turkey and mix together until well-combined
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup bread crumbs, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, and 1/2 tsp ground ginger.
  7. Add bread crumb mixture to turkey mixture and mix together until just combined.
  8. Using a 1 Tbsp cookie scoop, scoop individual meatballs onto prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake 15 mins.
  10. In a small saucepan, whisk together remaining 1/3 cup coconut aminos, remaining 1/3 cup less sodium soy sauce, remaining 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, remaining 1/2 tsp ground ginger, and 2 tsp sesame oil.
  11. Cook over medium-low heat at a simmer on stovetop for 8 mins. This is a 3 on my front, right burner.
  12. Add thinly sliced white parts of 2 green onions and continue to cook for 2 more mins.
  13. Transfer meatballs to a large serving bowl and pour sauce over them. Gently stir to coat meatballs in sauce. I use a rubber spatula for this step.
