Yummm… Yeah, I could eat this every day. 🤤
Big Steakhouse Flavor Without the Steakhouse Price Tag
There’s something about a great steakhouse marinade that makes even the simplest protein taste special. The combination of Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, black pepper, and herbs creates layers of savory flavor that transform ordinary grilled chicken into something worthy of center stage.
This Steakhouse Chicken recipe delivers all those classic steakhouse flavors while keeping the ingredient list simple and the preparation easy enough for a weeknight dinner.
Why This Recipe Works
The secret is in the marinade. Apple cider vinegar helps tenderize the chicken while Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce add tangy, savory depth. A touch of sugar balances the acidity, and a generous amount of black pepper creates that signature steakhouse-style crust when grilled.
The Nearly Italian Seasoning ties everything together with a blend of herbs that complement the smoky flavor from the grill without overpowering the chicken itself.
Unlike heavy cream sauces or butter-laden steakhouse dishes, this recipe relies on a flavorful marinade to create a rich taste experience while keeping the finished dish relatively lean and protein-packed.
The Importance of Marinating
Even a short 30-minute marinating time makes a noticeable difference, but if you have the time, letting the chicken sit for several hours allows the flavors to penetrate more deeply.
Because the excess marinade is discarded before grilling, the finished chicken gets plenty of flavor without being weighed down by excess oil or sodium.
Serving Ideas
This versatile chicken pairs well with nearly any side dish. Try serving it with:
- Grilled vegetables
- Roasted potatoes
- Garlic green beans
- Caesar salad
- Rice pilaf
- Pasta salad
- Corn on the cob
It also works beautifully sliced over salads (my kid’s favorite way to eat this one!), tucked into wraps, or used as a protein-packed addition to grain bowls.
Meal Prep Friendly
One of the best things about this recipe is how well it fits into meal prep. Grill a batch at the beginning of the week and use it in multiple meals:
- Lunch salads
- Sandwiches and wraps
- Protein bowls
- Pasta dishes
- Quick weeknight dinners
The chicken stays flavorful and moist for several days when stored properly in the refrigerator.
Restaurant-Worthy Flavor at Home
Great grilled chicken doesn’t need complicated techniques or expensive ingredients. With a simple steakhouse-inspired marinade and a hot grill, you can create juicy, flavorful chicken that tastes like it came from your favorite steakhouse.
Whether you’re feeding the family on a busy weeknight or firing up the grill for a weekend cookout, this Steakhouse Chicken recipe proves that sometimes the simplest recipes deliver the biggest flavor.
One of the best things about this marinade is its versatility. While it’s absolutely delicious on chicken, it’s equally at home on steaks and pork chops. The bold combination of Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, herbs, garlic, and cracked black pepper enhances the rich flavor of beef while complementing the mild sweetness of pork. Simply marinate steaks for 1 to 4 hours or pork chops for 30 minutes to 4 hours before grilling or pan-searing. Whether you’re planning a backyard barbecue or a quick weeknight dinner, this steakhouse-inspired marinade is one you’ll want to keep in your recipe collection for all your favorite proteins.
