Garlic Sautéed Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb fresh, whole green beans, trimmed
  • 1 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp pink Himalayan salt, divided
  • 1/16 (a small pinch) tsp black pepper
Directions
  1. Fill a large stock pot about 1/2 way w/ water.
  2. Add 3/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt.
  3. Bring to a boil over high heat on stovetop.
  4. Add 1/2 lb trimmed fresh green beans.
  5. Blanch (fancy word for the cooking we’re doing here!) for 4 mins.
  6. Drain blanched beans then rinse under rinse under cold water and set aside.
  7. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat on stovetop.
  8. Add 1 Tbsp EVOO and heat.
  9. Shake any remaining excess water from beans then transfer them to skillet.
  10. Add 2 tsp minced garlic and toss (I use tongs for this) for 1-2 mins, until garlic is toasted golden.
  11. Remove from heat and add remaining 1/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt and pinch (1/16 tsp) ground black pepper, then toss together before serving.
