TIPS: You can use a smaller ham, if desired. However, if you go less than 7 lbs, you may want to decrease the other ingredient quantities.
Island Baked Ham Recipe
Ingredients
- 9 lb spiral-cut ham (fully cooked)
- 20 oz crushed pineapple
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp ground mustard
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
Directions
- Remove 9 lb ham from refrigerator allow to sit at room temperature for 2 hrs.
- Toward end of the 2 hrs, preheat oven to 325◦ F.
- Unpackage ham (removing all plastic pieces) and place in large casserole dish or 9″ x 13″ baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup light brown sugar, 1 Tbsp ground mustard, and 1/2 tsp ground cloves.
- Pour the mixture over the top of ham, rubbing into the slices and over top and sides.
- Cover (use aluminum foil if not using a dish with a fitting lid).
- Bake 1 1/2 hrs – until internal temp reaches over 140◦ F – basting with juices at least every 30 mins.
- Remove from oven and baste with juices, then allow to rest until comes up to 140◦ F before serving.
